Coca-Cola and Constellation Brands launch the Fresca cocktail

(NewsNation Now) – Coca-Cola and Constellation Brands, the brewer of Corona and Modelo, are joining forces to create a range of ready-to-drink Fresca cocktails.

Zero-calorie soda is the fastest growing Coca-Cola soft drink in the United States, according to a press release from the company on Thursday.

It is also a popular cocktail mix.

“The Coca-Cola Company’s Fresca brand is not only trusted by consumers, it also directly addresses consumer preferences for refreshment, flavor and convenience – attributes that also play an important role in alcoholic beverages and where we can leverage our expertise, ”said Bill Newlands, President and CEO of Constellation.

Constellation Brands will produce, market and distribute Fresca Mixed, which is slated to launch later this year.

Alternative drinks such as ready-to-drink cocktails represent a nearly $ 8 billion segment that is expected to grow by at least 15% over the next three years, according to the Constellation Brands market research.

Coca-Cola launched its first alcoholic drink in 2020 with the launch of Lemon-Dou in Japan. In 2020, the company announced a relationship with Molson Coors, distributor of Topo Chico Hard Seltzer.

“The initial success of Topo Chico Hard Seltzer shows that consumers are excited to see recognizable beverage brands they already enjoy with alcohol entering the ready-to-drink alcohol space,” said Coca-Cola. Cola in an official press release.
