RBI publishes “Statistical Tables on Banks in India: 2020-21”

Today, the Reserve Bank released its web publication titled ‘Statistical tables relating to banks in India: 2020-21“Covering the activities of the Indian banking sector.

The publication provides information by entity on the main assets and liabilities as well as their maturity profile; income and expenditure; the selected financial ratios and the number of employees for programmed commercial banks (excluding regional rural banks) as well as details of priority sector advances (for public sector banks). In addition, the ratios of capital to risk-weighted assets (CRAR), non-performing assets (NPA), exposure to sensitive sectors, contingent liabilities and unclaimed deposits are included. It also presents the state breakdown of the consolidated balance sheet of rural cooperative banks.

The publication can be accessed on the RBI website via the link ‘Time series publications‘in the Indian Economy Database (DBIE) (https://dbie.rbi.org.in), where the time series on all variables have been updated to 2020-2021.
