SBI LIVE press conference: State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman Dinesh Khara spoke about SME lending, the Covid-19 resurgence and RBI relief measures on May 5, 2021 at a press conference on May 30, 2021. May 2021. President Khara explained how the RBI’s SME loan relief measures, which were announced on May 5, 2021, will be rolled out. He informed that the PSBs have formulated a model approach for restructuring loans to individuals, small businesses and MSMEs up to Rs 25 crore. In order to approach the bank for resolution, clients can file a request on the portal on the bank’s website, they can do manual submission of requests to the branch. Khara also informed that the government will provide 100 percent guarantee coverage for loans up to Rs 2 crore to hospitals / nursing homes etc. The validity of the ECLGS has also been extended until September 30, 2021, or until guarantees in the amount of Rs 3 lakh crore are issued. Disbursement under the scheme has been authorized until December 31, 2021.
