Banks will remain closed in several Indian states for the next five days, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar notification. Notably, banks closed on Saturday and will remain closed until July 21, 2021, due to various public holidays. On Friday July 16, banks were closed in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, on the occasion of Harela Puja.

Here is a complete list of locations as well as the dates when the statutory holidays will be in place:

1. Banks will be closed on Saturday (July 17) in Agartala in Tripura, and in Shillong in Meghalaya on the occasion of U Tirot Sing Day or Kharchi Puja.

2. Banks will be closed on Sunday (July 18) for the weekend.

3. On Monday July 19, banks will be closed in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, on the occasion of Guru Rimpoche’s Thungkar Tshechu.

4. Tuesday July 20, banks will be closed in Jammu, Srinagar, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Bakrid.

5. Banks will be closed across India on Wednesday July 21 on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. However, in Aizawl, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram and Gangtok, banks will remain open.

Bank customers are encouraged to visit the RBI website and check all July holidays and the remaining months of this year to plan their activities in advance.
